HACCP and ACO Organic Certifcations: A Quality Guarantee !

Mar 15, 2022

Our Organic and HACCP Certifications are proof of the promise we make to our clients to deliver products of the highest quality and efficacy!

We are the proud owners of 2 certifications at Organic Nutrients: An HACCP Certification and an Organic Certification from the ACO. But, what does that exactly mean for our products and more importantly, what does that mean for you!

We pride ourselves on producing food-grade, quailty products that work and these certifications are just another way of showing our valued clients exactly that. It's really that simple!

"HACCP Australia is a leading food science organisation specialising in the HACCP Food Safety Methodology and its applications within the food and related non food industries." (HACCP, 2021)

They provide certifications for non-food products and services that are designed for, or used extensively in, the food industry in order to identify certified products as 'fit for purpose'!

It is an international standard that employs 7 key principles to ensure quality control and safety:

  • Conduct Hazard Analysis of biological, chemical or physical food hazards
  • Determine critical control points
  • Establish critical control limits, for example, minimum cooking temperature and time
  • Establish a system to monitor control of Critical Control Points
  • Establish corrective actions
  • Establish procedure for verification to confirm that the HACCP system is working effectively
  • Establish documentation and record keeping

Products with an HACCP certification generally have to meet a number of requirements and are subject to regular audits from well-trained employers at HACCP as well.

These requirements usually include:

  • Well designed with ‘food-safe’ characteristics
  • Non toxic (or appropriate levels of toxicity)
  • Easy to clean (or appropriate for use)
  • Likely to reduce the risk of any form of contamination
  • Designed for a low consequence of error in use.

As for the ACO Organic Certification, this makes sure that all of our agronomists, farmers, horticulturists, and winegrowers can use all the Organic Nutrient products knowing they are safe for all conditions and crops.

ACO standards and regulations are also demanding and subject to annual auditing to make sure we are accountable and in control of the process every single step of the way. This means we can deliver our goods to you with an unwaivering quality guarantee.

But, what exactly does being 'certified organic' entail? Well! it is not enough to simply avoid using chemicals. ACO takes a holistic approach which means that everything from the growing to the handling of the produce must be up to snuff.

It also means that the products are created without the use of synthetic chemicals, fertilisers, or GMO’s. Organic is an innovative method of farming and production – and is increasingly being recognised as being on the leading edge of food and fibre technology.

Our products have been certified 100% organic with no pathogens, no weed seeds, no contaminants. Essentially, they are 100% reliable and consistent like no other compost.

These certifications are important to us because we are committed to being transparent and honest with our clients so they can know, without a shadow of a doubt, that they are receiving the very best we have to offer. This certification is just another way of showing how much we care!
